Day 1,Athens to Meteora and Sunset Tour

Catch the morning train to Kalambaka at 07:20 am from Athens 'Larissa' Railway Station, arrival at Kalambaka, around 11:30 am. Late afternoon our minibus will pick you up from your hostel to join 'Meteora Sunset Tour'. Admire breathtaking views of Meteora and discover the hidden gems of this place in one of the best tours of Mainland Greece.

Day 2,Morning tour and back to Athens

For the next morning you may choose the activity you wish: the 'Half-Day morning Tour of Meteora' to see the main attractions, the monasteries of Meteora with a VIP minibus or to join the 'Hiking Tour of Meteora'. Experience amazing sceneries and visit monuments of the Byzantine period, the monasteries of Meteora. Around 13:00, the bus will drop you back to your hostel. The train to Athens departs from Kalambaka at 17:15 pm and arrives at Athens around 21:25 pm.

  • Cancellations and amendments received within 30 days of departure will incur a penalty which will be the price of train tickets.
  • Cancellations and amendments received within 5 days of departure will incur a penalty of 50% per person.
  • Cancellations and amendments received within 24 hours of departure will incur a penalty of 100% per person.
  • Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.

FAQ

Will I meet anyone at the train station in Athens or Thessaloniki?

No. On our train tours, you will board the train from Athens or Thessaloniki on your own, using the tickets we will send you via email. Our guide will meet you at Kalabaka train station after your train arrives at Meteora. He will be holding a signboard with your name written on it in the parking lot of Kalabaka train station.

Which hotel will I stay at?

This tour includes stay at a fantastic local hostel.

When and how will I receive my train tickets?

We will send you the train tickets via email approximately one month before your trip date.

Why should I print the train tickets?

There is an off-chance that a train inspector might give you a hard time if you present them with an electronic version of your tickets. This is why we recommend you to print them.

What time should I be at the station?

Please be at the station at least 30 minutes before the departure in order to have plenty of time to find your coach and seats. The stewards there will assist you.

Is there food provided on the train?

Yes, there is a cafeteria-coach inside every train, where you can buy snacks and refreshments.

Is it worth it booking a first class seat?

Yes, first class seats are more comfortable and quieter. They are almost always arranged in a 6-seat-rooms, offering a higher amount of privacy and the first class coach is located next to the cafeteria, offering fast access there.
