If you are interested in tasting local flavours away from touristic places, eat lunch where locals eat, or to visit local wineries and learn about Meteora wines then this is the perfect tour for you. Escape on the scenic countryside around Meteora with an English speaking guide to walk you through the rich local flavours, the long history and the culture of Meteora.

Join this amazing, small size food & wine tour and discover the wealth of the mouth-watering local dishes. Enjoy a morning walk in the town of Kalambaka and later on a scenic drive through the villages around Meteora which are usually dotted by open-air fruit stands. Taste excellent local wines, home-made sausages and top-quality meat, local cheese, yoghurt, honey, homemade sweets from fruits, traditional soutzouki made with unfermented grape juice and nuts, or taste tsipouro, all highly ranked in the gastronomical list of local products.

Along the tour, you’ll have the rare opportunity to enter inside the only ancient hermitage accessible to the public in the area, the hermitage of St Theodosius. Numbers are strictly limited up to 10 people ensuring a personalized experience on this tour.

  • Confirmation for this product will be received at time of booking
  • Any participants under the age of 12 must have a parent or guardian present to sign on their behalf
  • Wear closed toed shoes
  • There are many beautiful sights. You are encouraged to bring a camera along
  • Weather will not affect the operation of the tours. However if canceled due to unfavorable weather conditions, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund
  • The monasteries have a strict dress code men must wear trousers and long sleeves, women must wear a long skirt. If you do turn up in shorts trousers and shirts will be provided.
  • Children 0-4 years old participate free of charge.
  • You can present either a paper or an electronic voucher for this activity

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations received within 5 days of departure will incur a penalty of 50% per person.
  • Cancellations received within 24 hours of departure will incur a penalty of 100% per person.
  • Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
