Tour Itinerary

Day 1,Pick up from Athens and Visit Delphi

Pick up from your Athens hotel, around 08:30 and departure for Delphi. Along the way you may choose to stop at the historical monasteries of Osios Loukas or at St. John Theologos. The trip to Delphi takes approximately 2 hours (not including the visit to the monasteries). Visit the archeological site of Delphi and the local museum. Choose the place of your lunch break, Arachova one of the best winter resorts of Greece or Itea, a small town nearby by the sea. In the afternoon we will head north towards central Greece and Meteora. The trip from Delphi to Meteora takes roughly 3 hours, arriving evening to check-in in the hotel at Meteora (Dellas boutique Hotel).

Day 2,Join the Meteora Half-day Tour and back to Athens

In the morning you will have the chance to visit the rock forest of Meteora and the monasteries. You may choose to visit Meteora privately with your own driver and vehicle to see 2 monasteries or you may join the Meteora Half Day Morning Tour, a local semi-guided tour that will take you to 2 monasteries plus the prehistoric cave of Theopetra, a 130.000 years old site to learn about the origins of mankind here in Greece. Enjoy the most spectacular views, learn the history and admire the Byzantine treasures in the monasteries of Meteora. After a lunch at a traditional local tavern you will take the road back to Athens. On the way back you will have the chance to stop at Thermopiles, the famous ancient battleground where King Leonidas and his 300 fellow Spartans gave their lives defending Greece from the Persian invasion.
