Dafni Gougla

Dafni was born and raised in Kalabaka, a town situated on the foot of the Meteora rocks. In her late teens she participated in an annual international student exchange program in Michigan, USA. She also spent four years in London, where she studied Greek with Latin, followed by a MA in Classics at University College London. Upon her return to Greece, she taught English in private schools and worked as a free-lance translator for a historical online encyclopaedia. Dafni became a professional tour guide in 2011, after a 2 1/2-year training. She is certified by the Greek Ministry of Tourism in Greek, English and French. She has also co-written and edited the texts of our website. Dafni currently lives and works as a tour guide in Athens. You may reach her at This email address is being protected from spambots. Lazaros Botelis

Lazaros Botelis successfully completed the Federal School of Mountaineering Instructors in 1995. Since then he teaches in various Schools of Mountaineering and Climbing for Beginners and Intermediate Level,  for Assistant Instructors and Instructors, as well as in Schools of Ski Mountaineering.He is a coach of the National Youth Team of Sport Climbing. He is an official route setter for Climbing and Mountaineering Ski Competitions. He has taught at IEK schools of Mountain Leaders of OTEK.

As an athlete he won a second and a third place in the National Cup of Sport Climbing and a second place in ski mountaineering in the Veterans category. Has climbed cliffs in most of Greece (Olympia, Meteora, Varasova, Astraka Vardousia), the Alps (Mont Blanc 4810, Aig. Du Midi, Aig. Du Roc, Aig. Rouges, Aig. Du Peigne, Aig. De L 'M), Dolomites (Cima Grande di Lavaredo, Cima Piccolo, Cingoue Torri and Tofana di Roses) and in France high difficulty cliff routes (Verdon, Buoux) and has made ascents and descents on alpine skis in most greek mountains.

In 1996 he became a proffessional mountain guide and a member of Hellenic Mountain Guides Association. Today is a freelancer and works as a Mountain Guide in Meteora.

Thanasis Samouris

Thanasis Samouris is a Hellenic Navy veteran, a Rafting Teachers instructor and the chief of operations of the Lake Plastira camping site. He works with eight experienced executives, covering all of the activities offered by Western Thessaly Trekking in the areas of Lake Plastira, Aspropotamos region and Meteora.

He speaks Greek and English.

Vassilis Tsiantikos

Vassilis Tsiantikos is an all around bicycle rider and a certified mountain bike instructor by MIAS. He was born in 1978 in Kalampaka. Former BMX Freestyle rider, he regularly participates in mountain bike and downhill races. He has traveled Europe in places like the Swiss and Austrian Alps, Italy Germany and France. He is an experienced Visit MeteoraTour Guide and knows the local trails like the back of his hand, will make you feel feel confident for the whole tour and share a lot of fun and laughs.

He speaks Greek and English.

Vassilis Theodorou

Vassilios "Bill" Theodorou born in 1984 and raised here in Meteora, he is one of the finest representatives of Meteora’s younger generation of expert climbers and mountain guides. Apart everything else he is Visit Meteora's team specialist for extreme sports in Meteora. If you love the feeling of a good adrenaline rush then very probably he is the perfect guide for you!

Bill has won twice the championship of sport climbing in Greece and a second place on a Balkan tournament. He is an accomplished Base Jumper, a snowboarder and a high liner. He is also a licenced paramedic and nurse.
